Ken, Willi, Steve, Dawson

                                 Made From Scratch is a 4 piece rockin’ blues band based in Wichita, KS. They stir up an exciting mix of Blues, Rock, Swing, and Jazz, all coming out the home cooked oven with a distinctive and tasty "Made From Scratch" flavor! With the talents of Steve Jordan on lead vocals and screaming harmonica, Ken Kretzschmar slinging the guitar, Willi Sebastian on that always spinning upright bass, and Dawson Braden pounding the skins, Made From Scratch keeps your fingers snappin’ and your toes tappin’. They have a self-produced CD out; “Home Cookin’”, and another one due out soon.

    MFS was formed in early 1986 as a two piece country blues act. After growing to five members, they played Wichita and the surrounding area for almost ten years. In the mid 90s MFS decided to pursue different projects. (Sticky Reeds, Gravy From the Hip, Mistaken Identity, Strange, The Buddy Holley Show, Swing Daddies, to name a few).

MFS was re-united to play at the 2002 Chautauqua Hills Blues Festival. "It felt just like old times, We had so much fun we decided we better keep Made From Scratch alive!"

Winners of the 2005 Wichita Blues Society Blues Challenge MFS were semi-finalists at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis January 2006.

Made From Scratch has a great chemistry that comes from playing together for over a decade. These boys really know how to throw it down. It’s hard to keep Steve from off the top of your table when he’s playing a killer harp solo, and you better watch out when Willi straps on the upright bass for a stroll around the room. These guys love what they do, and it shows. Spend some time cooking with Made From Scratch; you’re sure to have a good time!
